Plans for New Year’s

Later today we’ll be leaving to spend New Year’s together with friends. There’s a group of us going (I think seven), and we’ve rented a cottage on the Isle of Wight. I’ve heard that the island is supposed to be beautiful, so I’m having high hopes.

The cottage allows dogs as well, which means I can bring Bailey – which is great! One of the other couples are bringing their dog too, so I’ll have someone to go with me when taking Bailey out for walks.

We’ll be coming back home on Saturday evening, so spending three nights there. The rental was actually until Sunday, but a couple of people wanted to be home a day early so that they could have Sunday at home resting, before going back to work on Monday – which I can understand.

It’s a lot of socializing for an introvert like me though – being in a cottage with a bunch of other people for several days. It worries me a little, which the boyfriend doesn’t really understand – but then he’s an extrovert, so how could he?

In any case, I’m actually looking forward to it. I think we will have a great time!

What are your plans for the New Year’s?

  1. I am late in reading this, but HEY! I was on the Isle of Wight for one whole day earlier this year and had a fantastic time. As with every single damn thing I saw in the UK, it was gorgeous (although I admit I liked it more when it was sunny and less when it was lashing extremely high speed winds and spitting rain).

That looks like a great cottage. I hope you have a fantastic time and aren’t too bogged down by your introversion. I survived three weeks in tiny cottages with my in-laws, so I bet with a little (drink of your choice), you can get through a weekend. 🙂

Have fun! I’m so jealous because I have no plans and also because I am pretty sure I want to live in the UK too.

    • Sadly we didn’t get to see a lot of the island, because the weather was absolutely dreadful *lol* Still, it does look beautiful – and I’d love to go back sometime to visit any of the many interesting areas.

Come and live over here, I need more friends closer – we could be buddies 😀
