Since I’m no longer going to be working there after the last of this month my job is “giving away” my responsibilities to a couple of new people. This means that I’m currently sitting there with almost nothing to do.
Nothing I want better than to sit and twiddle my thumbs for two and a half weeks… right. It gets boring really fast. I have one thing left that only I do – and it doesn’t take my full work day, nor do I even have enough of it to have work for every day (unless I’d suddenly start working at snail-speed, but that doesn’t seem like a good idea).
Anyway, so to pass the time… I’m stealing this questionnaire off my sister’s blog (and translating it into English). Feel free to “steal” it yourself as well if you’re equally bored!
What is the most disgusting food that you know?
Seafood. I just can’t stomach it.
List five things that you’ve done in your professional life that you’re proud of.
1. I moved to a different country for a job, and stayed in that country for 7 years without “giving up” when it was rough.
2. I worked for 7 years in a language that is not my native one.
3. In any company where I’ve been I’ve worked my way up, getting promotions.
4. I learned to ignore colleagues who were unpleasant. It’s never personal.
5. I worked for a UN organisation that dealt with something I believe in (getting rid of chemical weapons in war).
What do you regret in life (if anything)?
Not seeing the signs that I was heading for a bad place before it happened. I really could have done with not having a burn out and messing my life up. I also wish I had dumped my ex long before our relationship finally ended, because he treated me badly and it wasn’t a good relationship. If I could somehow make myself not having broken my leg, that’d be nice too.
What is the strangest rumour you’ve heard about yourself?
I’ve never heard any rumours about myself, which is probably a good thing!
What will you be wearing this fall/winter?
The usual stuff I imagine. I don’t re-invent my wardrobe very often. So lots of tunics and lots of jeans I suspect.
What is your most expensive piece of clothing?
I never spend a whole lot of money on clothes, so I’m not quite sure. Probably my winter coat.
Do you have any unexpected talents?
I doubt it. I dabble in writing and I finished two novels, nothing ever published though.
What did you do this weekend?
Met someone I’d been wanting to meet for a long time for the first time. Watched a lot of movies and kissed a lot.
What are your five most important to-dos this week?
I don’t have any. My weeks are pretty slow at the moment. I don’t think changing the litter box count as an important to-do 😉
What are you wearing right now?
Jeans and a blouse/tunic.
Latest song you listened to.
I was browsing Youtube and came across an old favourite, and so it’s the last one I listened to right now.
Best beauty trick?
I don’t really have any. For me personally though, the difference between a dab and mascara or none is huge (blonde eye lashes suck!), so I’d have to say mascara.
Which clothing style do you think is the hottest on men?
Casual/Smart Casual. Nothing beats a man in nicely fitting jeans.
And the worst?
Just badly fitting clothes in general. If you want to wear comfy trousers at home, I don’t care (heck, I do it too!), but maybe you shouldn’t wear it to work 😉
Who do you miss?
I always miss my family that’s not close by. I also miss my friends who all live in different countries. Right now though, I possibly miss “him” most.
If you could have one wish only fulfilled, what would it be?
I’d want to win the lottery and not have to worry about jobs or the speed at which my recovery is going and if it’s quick enough or not. I hate having to worry about money while trying to get well enough to work again.
Which three people inspire you the most?
I’m too tired these days to be inspired by anything really.
Best movie ever?
I don’t know, I love so many movies. One very good movie that I’d recommend to anyone though is Crash.
Best book ever?
Again, too may favourites to ever list. Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen is definitely high on the list though.
Which magazines/papers do you read?
None. Zit. Nada. Well, I’ll read the news online. There are few magazines out there I enjoy.
What do you wish that you were better at?
A lot of things. Does being healthy count? I wish I was better at drawing, writing.. taking care of myself and loving myself.
Are you religious?
Not even a little.
What is your biggest fear?
Spiders. And heights. Other than that, losing my family. Rejection.
What is the meanest thing anyone’s ever said to you?
People generally don’t say mean things to me, but sometimes it’s not about what people say but what they do. I had a horrible time once in a company where the team I got into had a habit out of bullying any new members. They would freeze me out, and call out any mistake I made loudly for the whole room to hear. Ask everyone if they wanted to go for coffee, except me and such things. Honestly, it felt like I’d reverted back to kindergarden, until then I didn’t know adults could be so immature. Then I got a promotion and got out of that team, before the people who had been there longer.. so suck it, team mates!
If you have children, what will you name them?
I don’t know. It’s one of those things you can’t decide alone after all. Just because I like name A doesn’t mean that my future partner would like name A.
If you could buy any car – which one?
Probably an Audi A4.
The three nicest
SMS messages you’ve received this year? (I changed this because I don’t get enough SMS!)
1. The phone call from “him” 5 minutes after I’d dropped him off saying he already missed me.
2. My dad’s reponse to my blog entry about my insecurities.
3. Any odd SMS from “him” 😉
